This has been the busiest quarter of the year and a lot of events have happened. We have been working as usual, traveling back and forth, and we have been encountering trials one after another. On our way to Tampa, in July, our car broke down. We were without a car for three months. The ministry in Tampa that we are serving, Operation Light Force, put up a fundraising campaign towards the repair, or new car down payment. We were so blessed by such amazing people who responded by giving, and lending us cars. Because of their selfless generosity, we are able to continue driving down to Tampa every week to do ministry until able to get a new ride. This is what I love about the Body of Christ, they are always ready to respond to the needs of one another. For all of the amazing people who helped us, we are so thankful and grateful for all of you. We are so blessed to have all of you supporting our ministry and always checking on and praying for us.
Run for freedom
Spartan Race Trifecta
Matt has been training for the Spartan Race Trifecta this coming year. He has been sharing about the Spartan Race cause to people and what it is about. Matt and I have been trying to stay fit, eating healthy, and exercise, as these are important to us. Especially so, for all the demands in the ministry. We have been making sure we take good care of our spirit, soul, and body. “Run for Freedom”, is to bring awareness to the type of ministry that Matt and I and Operation Light Force have been doing over the years. The 5k race will be this December 12th in Florida. Check out the video below to learn more about it.
AG Youth National Fine Arts Festival
In the first week of August, I had an opportunity to be one of the evaluators of the two-dimensional art category of the Assemblies of God Youth National Fine Arts Festival. That was quite an experience, and I definitely learned a lot. AG Youth National Fine Art Festival is held every year, showcasing different varieties of talents from the youth of different churches around the USA. This is such a huge event where thousands of youth come and present their work and are given Merritt awards for the top participants from Southeastern University. This is such a great opportunity for Christian youth to participate in and also for professional artists to get involved with as support.
Family News
In the midst of this pandemic, the end week of August was challenging for me. I had received a message back home in the Philippines about my dad and my brother, who is the primary caretaker of my dad. My brother got sick, and was hospitalized, two days later after his admission, our dad passed. My dad had been ill for a while and needed care 24/7 by my brother. He was laid to rest August 25th together with my mom and sister who preceded him to heaven. This was so hard for me emotionally not being able to fly back home and to be there to help out physically. Some of you have received an electronic letter regarding the situation to respond in prayers. We felt the comfort and peace of God answering our prayers, and also for my brother’s healing. This has brought more sacrifices of thanksgiving to our God when He shows Himself as the answer to crisis. At the end of the month of September after all of these events back home, I got sick and, thank God for healing me. I am so thankful for such an amazing husband who took good care of me, and friends declaring God’s word over the situation.
The Enemy Can’t Win!
In all of these circumstances that might look like unfortunate events, there is one thing I know for sure, what to do during the storm. It is to dwell in the shelter of the most high God and in the shadow of the Almighty whose power no enemy can withstand. We serve a great God whose dominion endures all throughout the generations and who is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. We prayed and praised during the challenging times and difficult circumstances, and for me, my God never changed, He remained faithful and true! He is the same loving Father and is so powerful!
